You gently press the tip of your thumb to the tip of your index finger, keeping your other 3 fingers in an upright and relaxed position. The tip of your thumb has centers for pituitary and other endocrine glands. So the pressing of a thumb tip activates them. Gyan mudra helps to sharpen your memory, improves your mental focus, concentration and spiritual feeling. Furthermore, this mudra deals with sleep problems, anxiety, hysteria and depressive symptoms. Apan Vayu Mudra -- Also known as mudra of the heart, is a first aid step in heart attacks. You touch the hillock of your thumb with your middle and ring finger, while the index finger touches the base of the thumb, and the little finger is in an erect position. This mudra improves heart circulation and relieves pain of angina, a heart disease due to poor circulation of the heart. Rudra Mudra -- Is the ruler of the solar plexus chakra, and is associated with the earth element. Place the tips of your thumb, index finger and ring finger together. Extend your other 2 fingers in a relaxed way. Rudra mudra cures dizziness, heart complaints, and strengthens your internal organs. Prithvi Mudra -- Is also called the mudra of the earth. It activates your body and reduces physical weaknesses. Touching the tip of your ring finger to the tip of your thumb, while stretching out your other 3 fingers is how it's done. This mudra is known to improve skin complexion, brittle nails, hair loss, premature graying hair, chronic fatigue and any inflammatory diseases. Varuna Mudra -- Balances the water element in your body. It enhances your physical beauty. You join the tips of your thumb to your little finger. Varuna mudra is great for low blood pressure, asthma, cold and cough symptoms, and sinus congestion. Apan mudra stimulates the wood element, which is associated with the liver and gallbladder. It enhances your power of pleasure, inner balance and harmony, and helps to create and contain new beginnings. Linga Mudra -- Is used as a remedy for the lungs, guarding against colds and cold weather. You interlock your fingers over each other and keeping your thumbs in an upright position. Linga mudra produces heat in your body and strengthens your immune system. Experts advise drinking ample of water to balance the excess heat produced with this mudra. Surahi Mudra -- Sharpens your intellect, reduces colds and rheumatic inflammation. You join the little finger of one hand with the ring finger of the other, and vice versa.
